Jerry Kaplan, Ph.D. is a Professor of Medicine Emeritus in the Department of Pathology, University of Utah. He holds adjunct appointments as a Professor in the Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies, Department of Internal Medicine and in the Department of Cell, Viral and Molecular Biology, University of Utah. Finally, Dr. Kaplan is an Associate Professor (with tenure) in the Department of Physiology at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, Connecticut.
In addition to the above, Dr. Kaplan runs an active and federally funded laboratory that focuses on Cell Biology and Metal Metabolism, and is the Principle Investigator for the Hematology training grant, which the University of Utah has successfully held for over 35 years.
Dr. Kaplan received his B.S. in Biology at the State University of New York in Stony Brook, New York, followed by a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences at Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana. Her completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Harvard Medical School in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics.
