Research Statement

I have 30 years of nursing experience in a variety of settings. I have worked in a 20 bed hospital and a 1000 bed medical center. The majority of my experience is as a labor and delivery nurse but I have also been a triage nurse at several local ski resorts and a childbirth educator. Prior to my position here at the University of Utah, College of Nursing, I taught at Westminster College for 14 years. My initial nursing degree came from the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. I completed a master's degree as a perinatal clinical specialist here and finished the doctoral program in 2003.
