Research Interests

Connie Madden is an Associate Professor (Clinical) at the University Of Utah College Of Nursing, and the Assistant Dean for the Baccalaureate Program and Student Services. Her teaching responsibilities have varied between the undergraduate program, and the Teaching Nursing program. Her nursing practice background includes med-surg, critical care, home care and staff development. Her research interest is in the care of older adults, and in 1999 she received a Graduate Certificate from the Gerontology Center at the University of Utah. She completed her PhD as a Noorda Scholar from the University of Utah Harford Center for Geriatric Excellence in Nursing. She is also interested in the science of teaching and learning, and has a particular interest improving the experinces for all applicants and students, beginning with holistic admission through successful completion of the nursing program.
