I have been a licensed speech-language pathologist, for over 40 years and for the past 30 years have held administrative/leadership positions where I developed and lead a variety of clinical programs serving people with a range of communication disorders including programs for people who require Augmentative and Alternative Communication and people with neurogenic communication disorders and most recently the voice and communication program for people in transition. I initiated and developed a voice and communication intervention program to meet the growing demands for affordable voice therapy for people who identify as transgender or gender nonconforming and to provide graduate clinical training in this area as part our clinic’s graduate training mission. Throughout my career I have engaged in a range of applied research activities and projects addressing clinical questions with individuals with speech-language disorders.
