Academic Bio

Dr. Park is a neurosurgeon who comes to University of Utah Health Care from the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, where he completed a fellowship in endovascular neurosurgery. He completed his neurosurgery residency at the UC San Diego Medical Center. Following graduation, he served on active duty with the U.S. Navy at the Naval Medical Center San Diego, as well as a deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. A decorated combat veteran, he has published over 100 papers and book chapters and has presented at numerous national and international meetings. He also serves as the director of the University of Utah Endovascular Neurosurgery Fellowship training program.

Dr. Park's research interest focuses on clinical outcomes studies where he serves as the chair of a multi-institutional, prospective registry examining the endovascular treatment of cerebral aneurysms. He is also an active participant in the latest clinical trials examining the efficacy of the latest in endovascular technology.

With the ability to perform a comprehensive suite of open cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgical procedures, Dr. Park’s presence will enable University of Utah Hospital to provide complete coverage for patients requiring neurovascular treatment.
