Academic Bio

Fan-Chi Frances Su, PhD, is a clinical track assistant professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Utah and is a medical physicist at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital. Dr. Su specializes in the physics of brachytherapy, treatment planning and dose calculation, image registration and motion management. Dr. Su received her Bachelor’s degree in Radiological Sciences at Chang Gung University in Taoyuan City, Taiwan and her Master’s degree in Medical Physics from National Tsing Hua University in Hsinchu City, Taiwan. In 2009 she completed her PhD at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. She joined the Medical Physics team at Huntsman Cancer Hospital in January 2016. Prior to her position here, Dr. Su was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Therapeutic Radiology at Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. Her clinical and research interests include motion management, adaptive radiation therapy, failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) in radiation therapy.
