I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from Brigham Young University in 1990 and my Doctor of Medicine degree from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD in 1994. I completed Family Medicine residency training at Andrews AFB, Maryland in 1997. I served the brave servicemen and women of our country for fifteen years on active duty in Utah, Nebraska, Alaska and Croatia before becoming a civilian physician here in Ogden in 2005.

l practice the full scope of family medicine for all ages from hospital nursery care for newborns up to hospice and palliative care for ages 100+, and everything in between except for obstetrics. I manage acute illnesses and injuries, practice occupational medicine, perform office procedures such as IUD insertions, joint injections, biopsies, vasectomies and circumcisions. I manage chronic disease states such as emphysema, hypertension, heart disease, mental health and diabetes (including insulin pump and continuous glucose monitor management) among many others. I focus on prevention, attempting to identify problems early when they are treatable and help all of my patients achieve and maintain optimum health.

I chose to become a physician to help people. In family medicine, we are the front lines of medical care. I like the challenge of diagnosing and treating any kind of patient that comes to my office for help. I enjoy sharing the important moments in the lives of my patients and helping them through the rough patches. l feel the most fulfillment by helping people turn their bad habits into good ones, assisting them in becoming healthier and adding not just years, but quality to their lives.

On my free time I like gardening, travel, reading, serving in my local church congregation including many years with the Boy Scouts in various capacities.
