Utah Symposium for Emerging Investigators

October 15-16, 2021 • Salt Lake City, UT

Over three days each fall, 10-12 hand-selected emerging investigators in radiology and imaging sciences are brought to Utah to engage in an exciting symposium where cutting edge ideas are shared. We bring together clinical investigators alongside basic researchers, we explore all modalities in imaging sciences, and we have fun doing it in our beautiful Salt Lake City and Park City settings.

We have several fantastic keynote speakers as well as our invited presenters, showcasing some of the brightest minds in radiology and imaging sciences. A diverse group ranging from junior faculty to late graduate student/post-doctoral level researchers from across the USA join University of Utah scientists and physicians at this symposium.

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS AT THE SYMPOSIUM

Be reassured that we are planning to keep everyone as safe as possible while still holding an exciting symposium. Please expect the following precautions during the symposium:

  • Wearing masks at all indoor symposium events. This is required for U of Utah health sciences staff, faculty, and students and highly recommended for all visitors. We will have masks available for everyone.
  • Frequent hand washing (bathrooms are right outside the presentation room) and liberal use of hand sanitizer (we will have hand sanitizer available).
  • Meals at the event will be individually prepared and presented to avoid potential cross contamination.
  • Note that the Utah state legislature has banned mask mandates although the mayor of Salt Lake City has enacted a mask mandate for public buildings in the city limits – you will likely see a number of people in town with and without masks. Of course, our recommendation is to follow CDC guidelines to mask indoors while the Delta variant is still in a high transmission phase.

Our goal is to have everyone feel safe and to limit any risk of spreading COVID during our events. We appreciate your help and understanding in this.
