Welcome
The 2026 CTN Annual Scientific Meeting is being held in-person at Natcher Auditorium (Building 45) on the NIH Campus in Bethesda, Maryland, April 13-15, 2026. For those unable to attend in person, all plenary sessions and some breakout sessions will be broadcast virtually. The level of interaction available virtually will vary by session.
This meeting is recommended for members of CTN; substance use disorder treatment providers, researchers, and policymakers; and those who work in related fields and share an interest in improving substance use disorder treatment and advancing the science of addiction. There is no limit to the number of registrations by CTN Nodes and/or organizations.
There is no registration fee to attend this meeting. However, attendees are responsible for their own travel, meals, and lodging.

Please note that registration on the NIH Visitor Management Portal (more information below and here) is required for non-U.S. visitors at least 30 days in advance of the meeting.

Poster Presentation
Submission Information
Sharing the results, experiences, techniques, and observations from performing our trials is a critical and exciting part of the CTN experience. To that end, CTN members are encouraged to submit posters for display at the 2026 CTN Annual Scientific Meeting Poster Session to be held on Monday, April 13, 2026 (tentative date). Poster submissions should be relevant to the CTN either directly (i.e. reporting on CTN studies, data, etc.) or indirectly (i.e. information that informs potential future CTN projects). As in previous years, we will consider new posters as well as posters that were presented at meetings over the past year.
- Proposals for new posters should include the title, author list, and brief abstract
- Proposals for previously presented posters should include the title, author list, name/date of the previous meeting, and an electronic copy of the poster
- One or more authors should be available to stand with the poster during the poster session
- Presenters are responsible for bringing the poster for display. Posterboards to be provided will be 6' (1.83m) wide by 4' (1.22m) tall

Logistics for Presentation Day
Please print your poster and bring it with you when you present in-person.
- If you bring your poster in a tube, please label your poster tube with your name, so you can easily identify it.
- The poster boards will be numbered. We will provide you with your poster number closer to the meeting.
- There will be push pins on each board for your use.
- Please set up your poster by the start of your poster session and remain with your poster for the duration of your poster session so you can answer questions and expand on the material for interested in-person attendees.
- Please remove your poster at the end of your poster session. Any posters not removed will be thrown away.

Getting to NIH Main Campus
You will access the NIH main campus via the Gateway Center at 9000 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, Maryland. Visitors are strongly encouraged to use public transportation to get to campus.
Public Transit/Metro
Visitors can take the Red Line Shady Grove Metrorail to the Medical Center Metro stop which is conveniently located outside the NIH visitor center. For information visit the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority "Metro" site.
Personal Vehicle Parking
If you drive a personal vehicle, we recommend parking in the primary visitor parking lot, MLP-11, a 342-space, multi-level underground parking garage outside of the NIH perimeter that does not require vehicle inspection. The cost to park in MLP-11 is $2 per hour for the first three hours, $12 maximum for the entire day. If you choose to use a visitor lot on campus instead your vehicle will be inspected. The cafeteria at the Natcher Conference Center is open Monday – Friday, 7am-10am and 11am-2pm. Additional cafeterias and food trucks are available within a short walk. Please visit this page to learn more.

Security at the NIH Gateway Center
Security screening is required for access to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) campus. Please allow 1 hour extra to go through security after arriving on the NIH campus.
- The NIH has developed a new system for pre-clearing attendees called the Visitor Management Portal (VMP). If you have registered to attend this meeting, you will receive an email from the NIH to provide them with additional information. This form is optional (but highly encouraged) for US citizens and green card holders and mandatory for non-US citizens.
- You will receive an email from NIH closer to the meeting with a link to enter your information into the portal. Please complete this form ASAP. If not completed at least 30 days prior to the meeting, you may be denied access to the NIH Campus.
- In addition, this form will only be sent to non-NIH attendees. If you have an NIH Badge, please disregard this information.
- All non-U.S. person visitors must complete the VisitNIH pre-registration process prior to visiting the Bethesda Main Campus. Pre-registration process should be completed 30 days in advance to allow enough time for review and approval. Failure to pre-register in time could put the visit at risk of being denied.
- Non-U.S. person visitors should bring their unexpired foreign passport when entering the facility and be prepared to provide the guard with U.S.-issued visa information during the check-in process if applicable.
- Regardless of whether you completed the VMP, all visitors must provide a government-issued ID, such as a driver's license or passport, at the Gateway Center to gain access to the NIH Campus. Please be aware:
- The National Institutes of Health (NIH) will only accept state-issued driver’s licenses and identification (ID) cards that are compliant with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
- For more information and to ensure your license is compliant, visit the DHS REAL ID information site.
- An adult must accompany visitors under 18 years of age.
- NIH security may ask you for the purpose of your visit and for a copy of an invitation to the NIH Campus. Please print and bring a copy of your meeting registration confirmation to present to NIH Security if they request it.
- All visitors should be prepared to submit to a personal inspection prior to entering the campus. These inspections may be conducted with a handheld monitoring device, a metal detector and by visible inspection. Additionally, your personal belongings may be inspected and passed through an x-ray machine.
- Federal law prohibits the following items on Federal property: firearms, explosives, archery equipment, dangerous weapons, knives with blades over 2½ inches, alcoholic beverages, open containers of alcohol, and marijuana (cannabis).
- Visitor passes must be prominently displayed at all times while on the NIH campus.

Getting to the Natcher Conference Center Auditorium
The Natcher Auditorium (Building 45) is approximately a half a mile walk from the Gateway Center security checkpoint. Visitors can download the NIHCC TakeMeThere App to view a virtual map with the auditorium’s location. The NIH Campus Shuttle is also available (stop at Building 45).
