CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Please join us in making AHSR 2026 a showcase for vibrant, innovative research that can have a strong impact on creating equitable access to effective addiction services!

Beginning Friday, February 6, 2026, we will begin accepting abstract submissions for individual presentations and symposium sessions: 

  • Individual presentations (oral or poster) feature results from a single study. Individual presentations accepted for oral presentation will be grouped together (5 abstracts) by topic into a 90-minute session.
  • Symposium sessions are comprised of four to five presentations with a common theme. Symposium sessions will be 90-minutes in length.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Abstracts must be submitted by the person who intends to present the study in the case of an individual presentation, and by the chair/moderator in the case of a symposium session.
  • An author may submit a maximum of two abstracts where they would be the presenting author.
  • All accepted abstracts may be published in a peer-reviewed journal, unless you choose to opt out.
  • We welcome abstract submissions from contributors across all sectors, including industry organizations. All submissions must be grounded in empirical evidence and free from commercial bias. To ensure transparency, each submission must include a conflict-of-interest disclosure and/or funding statement.

Individual Guidelines:

When submitting, please have the following information ready:

  • Abstract title
  • Submission type (oral presentation only, poster only, either oral or poster).
  • Submission track: Criminal Justice, Dissemination & Implementation Science, Health Disparities, Health Economics & Policy, Healthcare Systems & System-Wide Interventions, Methods & Models, Rural and American Indian and Alaska Native Health, Treatment Development & Evaluation, or Other.
  • Structured Abstract (up to 300 words, not including title) with the following included: Background/Objectives, Methods, Results, Implications. Do not include citations in the abstract.
  • Substance(s) your abstract focuses on, if applicable
  • Disclaimers/Funding Statement
  • Whether or not you consent to publish abstract in a peer-reviewed journal
  • Presenting author and co-authors’ names, titles, and affiliations
  • Demographics of the presenting author

Symposium Guidelines:

When submitting, please have the following information ready:

  • Title of the session
  • Name and affiliation of chair/moderator of the symposium. The chair/moderator can be the presenting author of a presentation included in this symposium or someone else.
  • Brief description of the symposium (up to 300 words, not including title)
  • The proposal should include four or five abstracts.
  • Symposium sessions will be 90-minutes in length.
  • Abstracts will be considered for individual presentations if the symposium is not selected. If your abstract was submitted for an individual presentation, please do not submit it as part of a symposium.

For symposium submissions in Dryfta, the chair or moderator must be listed as the submitter, as they serve as the primary point of contact. The following steps must be completed before submitting the symposium as a whole.

  1. Fill out all required panel information. Please note that the panel information does not serve as the abstract for the chair/moderator.
  2. Enter the chair/moderator’s information in the Panel Submitter Detail section.
  3. Select “Add Submission” to enter multiple symposium abstracts and their associated contact information, including the chair/moderator’s abstract if applicable.

    AHSR 2026 welcomes submissions from contributors across all sectors, including researchers, practitioners, policymakers, students, community partners, and industry organizations.

    All abstracts must be grounded in empirical evidence and free from commercial bias.

    We are accepting abstract submissions for individual presentations and symposium sessions:

    AHSR 2026 allows encore presentations as long as the associated abstract has not appeared in any published form (e.g., journals).

    Abstract submissions should be no longer than 300 words (not including the title), must include Background/Objectives, Methods, Results, and Implications.

    A presenting author is the individual who will deliver the accepted oral or poster presentation at AHSR 2026.

    You do not need to be registered to submit an abstract; however, all presenting authors will be required to register once their submission has been accepted.

    Abstracts are due by Friday, April 17, 2026.
