Strategic Adjunct Faculty Engagement Program (SAFEP)
SAFEP is a divisional initiative designed to strengthen the academic and research mission of the Division of Hematology by formally engaging nationally and internationally recognized external faculty. The program emphasizes high-impact mentorship and sponsorship of junior and mid-career faculty, collaborative grant and clinical trial development, and the generation of high-impact scholarly work. SAFEP appointments are highly selective and involve sustained mentorship, active research collaboration, and regular in-person engagement with the Division. Through SAFEP, the Division aims to expand its national footprint, enhance faculty development, and accelerate scientific discovery across all sections.
Dr. Steidl's outstanding record of scientific innovation, translational impact, and mentorship exemplifies the mission and goals of SAFEP. His engagement will create new opportunities for collaboration, faculty development, and programmatic growth within the Division.
