The project, titled “Real-world outcomes of AML with IDH1 mutation in the U.S. veteran population,” will examine clinical outcomes using data mined from the national Veterans Affairs (VA) database. The study aims to generate real-world evidence that may help inform future treatment strategies and improve care for veterans diagnosed with AML carrying IDH1 mutations.

Ahmad Halwani will serve as co-principal investigator (Co-PI) on the project and will help lead efforts to analyze and mine data from the VA national database.

The grant award totals approximately $400,000 and will support the research team’s efforts to better understand disease patterns, treatment responses, and outcomes in this important patient population.

This award highlights continued research leadership in hematologic malignancies and a growing commitment to leveraging large-scale clinical data to advance precision medicine for patients with AML.
