Dr. Aylin Rodan Selected as Associate Director of the University of Utah Molecular Medicine Program

The Department of Internal Medicine and the Division of Nephrology & Hypertension are delighted to announce that Dr. Aylin Rodan has accepted the position of Associate Director of the University of Utah Molecular Medicine Program, effective July 1, 2020. Aylin has been an Investigator in the Molecular Medicine Program since 2016, when she joined the University of Utah, in the Department of Internal Medicine and the Department of Human Genetics.

Receiving her Biology degree at Yale, Dr. Rodan completed her MD/PhD training and residency at UCSF, followed by subspecialty training at UT Southwestern. Currently a tenured Associate Professor of Medicine, her research is focused on using Drosophila melanogaster to study ion transport processes relevant to human physiology. Many in the Department of Internal Medicine have had the opportunity to interact with Dr. Rodan in Chalk Talks, seminars, and other settings. She is an incredibly talented physician-scientist and highly dedicated mentor and leader.

We are truly honored that Dr. Rodan has accepted this role. Her leadership and vision will undoubtedly help us continue to make impactful scientific discoveries and rigorously train the next generation of biomedical scientists. Please join me in congratulating Dr. Rodan!
