Welcome to the Division of Rheumatology. Our goal is to provide outstanding care for patients with all rheumatic diseases referred from throughout the Intermountain area to the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics and the Salt Lake City George E. Whalen Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center. Additionally, we bring our patients the benefit of state of the art research along with a commitment to train the next generation of rheumatologists. Our full-time faculty physicians care for patients in clinics on main campus and at the university’s clinics in South Jordan and Farmington.
Our division’s research activities span a wide range of disciplines, including basic research in rheumatology, immunology, genetics, epidemiology, and health services research. This is especially evident in our junior faculty who are heavily supported with VA career development and merit review awards, NIH grants, and private philanthropy. The division's educational activities include a full range of teaching for medical students and medical residents; though, the focus of our educational mission is our fellowship program.
It is an especially exciting time to be in rheumatology. As faculty we are privileged to provide exceptional care to our patients, to increase clinical discovery, and train our successors. I invite you explore our website to learn more about individual faculty members, their research interests, and opportunities to train and become involved.
