Health Sciences Education

Neurobiology faculty play a significant role in teaching medical and dental students during the preclinical years, as well as in developing medical and dental school curricula. Fusing basic science with medicine, our faculty teach the essentials of gross anatomy, neuroanatomy, embryology, histology, and physiology both in Utah and abroad, and develop multimedia teaching materials that are used worldwide.

Education Outreach

Since 2005 Neurobiology faculty Suzanne Stensaas, PhD, and David Morton, PhD, have been serving at the Kwama Nkurmah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana. There they have assisted in teaching gross anatomy, histology, and neuroanatomy to medical, dental, and optometry students. Together with Rick Ash, PhD, they have also helped develop computer assisted instructional tools for teaching gross anatomy, histology, and neuroanatomy. Many of these aids are freely available and are used by undergraduate, graduate, and medical students across the globe.
