Why Utah?

Of all the programs I visited, the U of U comprises the perfect mix of volume and complexity of clinical cases, from awake craniotomies for tumor mapping and deep brain stimulation to far-lateral approaches for skull base pathologies. There is sufficient flexibility to tailor your elective time to dedicated research, educational, or global health opportunities, and a number of the neurosurgery faculty lead basic science labs. Plus, the program culture is one of the best out there, and the team will often get together for cookouts and outdoors adventures.
