These headlines represent the prominent themes that came out of our content analysis of Gen Z work. Many of them focus on the negative stereotypes of Gen Z, either proving them to be true, disproving them, or simply perpetuating them without much further comment. For example, the "lazy" stereotype presents itself often within the journalistic literature, but there is little discussion of why Gen Z appears lazy to other generations. This may be in large part due to Gen Z's association with AI in popular consensus, since AI is also at the forefront of the discussion around work and especially around Gen Z.
The bulk of the articles also described how work is changing as a result of Gen Z and the changes that Gen Z is encountering. There was a large theme of looking at how Gen Z has been impacted by COVID through remote work and now a shift back to in-person workplaces. Additionally, many of the sources talked about how Gen Z is facing economic concerns such as housing affordability, which differentiates Gen Z's experience with work and life from older generations' experience.
