Application Deadline

October 10th

Electronic Application

Annually the U of U matches six first-year residents. Residents are not accepted outside of the matching process without prior approval from the ACGME. There will be no sent or accepted applications through the mail. We only accept applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Applications will be sent from ERAS to residency programs starting September 15th.

Foreign Medical School Graduates

Contact the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) to obtain information on applying to the residency program via ERAS. Canadian medical school graduations can contact the Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS) about applying to the program electronically.

The University of Utah Department of Orthopaedics does not require additional information outside of ERAS.

Resident Selection

After all applications are received and reviewed, applicants will be contacted by email or phone for interview invites.

2021 Interview Dates:

January 26-27, 2022  -  Interview invitations will be sent mid-November.
