Sports Medicine Symposium: The Pediatric Athlete
Date: Friday and Saturday March 2-3, 2018
Time: 7 a.m. – 10 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
This year's 2nd Annual Sports Medicine Symposium is focused on ages 5-18 years old. There has been a substantial increase in pediatric sports participation at all levels, which has increased the frequency of sport-related injuries. This year's symposium will focus on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of a multitude of sports-related injuries. Topics will include the management of common medical conditions in athletes, concussion care, early sport specialization, mental health, shoulder instability, hip impingement, and many other musculoskeletal conditions.
The conference is sponsored by University of Utah Health in collaboration with the United States Olympic Committee, committed to providing high level care for pediatric athletes at all levels.
This year will focus on care for pediatric athletes. We want everyone to know how to care for this athlete group. This interactive conference will provide information on the current research advances that have been made, discuss the surrounding gaps in the body of literature, and identify future research.
