About Me
Michael Ornstead is from Cedar City, Utah. He graduated from Southern Utah University in 2019 with a BS in General Studies (minors in Chemistry and Biology), while also working as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) prior to medical school. As this year's post-sophomore fellow, he is taking a leave of absence from his training at the University of Utah School of Medicine and will return to graduate with his MD in 2024. Michael is interested in cell signaling, driver mutations, and cancer diagnostics. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, board games, and spending time with his family.
