Dr. Seyi Falekun grew up in Nigeria, where he graduated from Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma with a BS in Biochemistry in 2011. In 2016, Seyi earned his MS in Chemistry/Biochemistry from Tennessee State University. In 2022, he earned his PhD from the University of Utah. His PhD work focused on elucidating the essential roles of divergent acyl carrier proteins in the mitochondrion and apicoplast of human malaria parasite, Plasmodium falciparum. Outside of work, Seyi enjoys playing soccer and helping with humanitarian services.
