Introducing Dr. Mei San Tang
The Department of Pathology is pleased to welcome Mei San Tang, MD to the faculty. Dr. Tang specializes in blood banking and transfusion medicine and joined the Clinical Pathology Division in August 2025.
Prior to arriving in Utah. Dr. Tang was on the faculty at Washington University In St. Louis, as well as working at the San Diego Blood Bank as the Director of Lab Services. She completed a clinical pathology residency at Washington University, where she also served as chief resident, in addition to a fellowship in transfusion medicine and blood banking at Stanford University.
She is excited about the opportunity to be involved in different aspects of transfusion medicine, including the donor center and the hospital transfusion service. The University of Utah and ARUP also provide a unique opportunity to be involved in R&D in diagnostic testing.
Outside of work, she enjoys reading and writing, as well as the occasional hike.
