POST-INTERVIEW COMMUNICATION

SECOND LOOKS:

We have adopted the recommendations of both the AAMC and the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) regarding second looks:

  • Without further evaluation of safeguards to maintain equity for applicants, AAIM recommends against in-person visits as part of the interview process, including in-person interviews, open houses, or program-sponsored second looks. Of note, applicants retain the option to visit cities, communities, and institutions on their own.

The interview day is designed to provide you with a clear picture of our training program and includes multiple opportunities to ask questions of our residents, program leadership, and faculty. In the spirit of fairness to all applicants, second look in-person visits will not impact an applicant’s ranking. On interview day, applicants will be provided contact information for program representatives for questions that arise after the interview.

THANK-YOU NOTES:

As a commitment to upholding the standards outlined in the NRMP Code of Conduct, our program follows the recommended guidelines on limited post-interview communication. We want to personally emphasize our dedication to creating a transparent, equitable, and stress-free experience for you as our applicants.

In line with these principles, we believe that steering clear of additional thank-you notes or emails post-interview is the way to go. We genuinely trust that the interview day is a significant opportunity for both our team to connect with you and for you to gain in-depth insights into our program.

Your understanding and cooperation mean a lot as we work together to make our selection process as smooth and meaningful as possible. Thank you for your interest in our program – we look forward to the journey ahead together.
