Categorical Pediatric Program
The categorical track provides the skills necessary to be a superb pediatrician capable of entering private practice, pursuing a career in academics, or beginning fellowship training. Rotations on pediatric subspecialities ensure a comprehensive education as well as opportunities for residents to seriously consider subspecialty fellowship programs at the conclusion of their residency. The longitudinal outpatient experience (LOE) is up to two half-days per week and may be taken in a University Clinic, South Main Clinic, Teen Mother and Child Program or the office of a local private practitioner.
The curriculum provides extensive education in general pediatrics and comprehensive exposure to subspecialty pediatrics, and block rotations in all major pediatric subspecialties. We also provide opportunities for research and advocacy.
