Stuti Das, MD
After being on the East Coast for 8 years, I was ready to come back West. I chose Utah for a variety of reasons. It was evident from my interview that not only would I receive amazing training in general pediatrics, but also my interest in Child Abuse Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine would be nurtured. I have found extraordinary mentors not only in both fields, but in other departments as well. In addition, I wanted a diverse patient population with medical complexity. South Main Clinic has allowed me to serve the underserved and refugee population in SLC, while the vast catchment area is teaching me to how to care for some of the sickest and most complex children in the Intermountain West. Most importantly, I chose this program for the camaraderie I saw amongst residents. This past year I have built my own residency family with whom I'm slowly working through "60 hikes within 60 miles of Salt Lake" and picnicking in Sugarhouse Park with lamb shank kabuli from Afghan Kitchen or bubble tea from Tea Bar.
