Population Health Sciences Ranked Top 10 Nationally in Public Health NIH Funding

The Department of Population Health Sciences at University of Utah Health has been ranked #10 in Public Health in the 2025 Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research (BRIMR) rankings of NIH funding.

The BRIMR rankings are compiled annually using NIH year-end composite data from the federal fiscal year ending September 30, 2025, as released through the NIH Research Portfolio Online Reporting Tool (RePORT) . The rankings reflect total NIH funding awarded during that fiscal year and are widely referenced as an objective benchmark of scientific vitality.

A top 10 national ranking underscores the department’s sustained research excellence and growing impact. Faculty lead multidisciplinary work across clinical trials, health services research, epidemiology, statistical methods, behavioral science, cost effectiveness, and implementation science.
