Overview

Through the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Utah School of Medicine, Assessment & Referral Services (ARS) offers the following services to help you or your loved one.

DUI Arrest Assessments

Individuals arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) can come to to ARS for assessment and referral to educational courses or treatment.

Employer or Overseeing Agency Referrals

Employers or overseeing agencies may refer individuals to ARS for assessment if the employee needs an assessment to maintain employment or enter a particular organization or profession.

Interim Group Services

For individuals who are residents of Salt Lake County and do not have the financial means to pay for substance abuse treatment, Interim Group Services provides a safe environment before treatment.

Loved Ones & Family Referral

For adults or adolescents who are referred by loved ones or family members, ARS offers assessments outside of treatment facilities. Because ARS is not a treatment program, these individuals may be more willing to receive an assessment with us.

Substance-Related Arrests

For individuals who have been arrested on charges related to substance abuse, ARS offers assessments, whether court-ordered or desired by the individual, to help evaluate their case in relation to the abuse.
