Grant Writing Class

The department offers a comprehensive grant writing class several times a year for faculty and trainees. We cover the elements of NIH proposals and the finer points of good writing and logical argumentation, all in an interactive environment.

We are pleased to announce that the 2022 Fall Grant Writing Class will begin on August 24, 2022. This class is geared towards grant applications being submitted December 2022 - January 2023. Anyone is welcome to join the class – from seasoned researchers to trainees; it is meant to provide a structure to help you finish an application this fall.

Classes will be held on Wednesday mornings from 7-9 am over 10 weeks, followed by a 2-week break for students to finish their proposals before a final Mock Study Section where they will receive feedback from our expert faculty researchers. Classes are designed to be very interactive and workshop-centered.

At this time, we are planning for an in person class, however we present virtually if needed. If the class is in person, breakfast will be provided.

  • All sponsors of research (for example, NIH) require institutional approval for the use of humans or animals before funds will be released to the investigator.
  • All projects involving humans submitted by Radiology faculty must be approved by Suyi Niu to ensure the correct approvals have been sought, a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) has been assigned to your project and funds are included in your budget to support the CRC's effort.
