About Me

I grew up in Merced, CA about an hour outside Yosemite valley where we would frequently visit to hike and bike. During undergrad I developed a passion for global service spending 10 months volunteering at an orphanage in Bolivia, and 7 months as an English teacher in Jordan. From my varied experiences internationally, I knew that I wanted to specialize in a field of medicine that threw me into unexpected situations and felt like the jack of all medical trades--emergency medicine was the perfect fit.

Global Health, Sports Medicine, Wilderness Medicine, Med-Ed, Critical Care (I can't make up my mind!)

Interests & Hobbies

All things outdoors: Cycling, mountain biking, bikepacking, rock climbing/bouldering, backpacking, and hiking--best enjoyed with my wife and/or friends. I also love getting the perfect shot with my camera or drone of people doing epic stuff outside. Another hobby of mine is trying new things whether that is traveling to a new country, finding a new vegetarian-friendly restaurant, or learning the hobby of a friend.

Why Utah?

University of Utah EM has the perfect blend of diverse clinical practice and strong academics in one of the most adventurous places in the world. It was very clear to me that the faculty and residents love working together just as much as they love getting outside together and I was totally sold!
