I grew up in the pacific northwest, including attending college at the University of Washington where I majored in neuroscience and business administration. During my gap years and in between playing in the woods, the water, and the mountains I worked as an ED scribe where I first thought EM could be the place for me. My journey then took me down to the desert in Phoenix for medical school, where I confirmed my love for EM, and a firm distrust of cacti.

Interests & Hobbies
Any excuse to adventure outside! I love climbing, mountain biking, road biking, trail running, basketball, fly fishing, skiing, and diving. When my body breaks down I enjoy card games, pretending like I can tell the difference between a good cup of coffee, pint of beer, or glass of wine from a bad one, killing sourdough starters, and traveling.
Why Utah?
What's not to love? This program trains excellent clinicians who can go practice in any setting, which is great for someone who doesn't have it all figured out yet. Program leadership is invested in getting you where you want to go to be the kind of physician you want to be. When I met everyone virtually on interview day and social, as well as in-person at the second look it was clear I'd found my people. Being around people you feel comfortable with who make you a better person both inside and outside of work is crucial. And last, living in SLC with unmatched access to the outdoors in a quickly growing city will allow me to continue to grow as a person and stay a happy person.
