About Me

I grew up in San Diego, where I fully embraced the beach lifestyle. I grew up surfing and diving, and during my gap year worked as a beach lifeguard for San Diego Lifeguards.
I’m half-Japanese and my favorite way to stay connected to my culture is through food. (Fun fact: I’ve been to Japan over 50 times!)
I was drawn to emergency medicine because it combines caring for patients at their most vulnerable, working in a team, and managing high-acuity situations—while serving patients who might otherwise fall through the cracks.

Surfing, diving, snowboarding, climbing, hiking, and traveling!

Why Utah?

From my first interactions with the residents and faculty, I kept thinking, “these are my people.” The program offers incredible training while still prioritizing a supportive, down-to-earth culture. It felt like a place where I could grow into the kind of physician I want to be, while also being surrounded by people I’d actually want to hang out with outside of work.
And of course, living in Salt Lake City doesn’t hurt. I’m excited to fully lean into my “granola girl” era—spending my days in the ED and my free time exploring everything Utah has to offer!
