The Texas-Utah Consortium for Hazardous Waste Worker Training (TUCHWWT) is a partnership between the University of Texas School of Public Health's Southwest Center for Occupational and Environmental Health and the University of Utah's Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health, currently known as the Prevention, Preparedness, and Response (P2R) Consortium . The P2R Consortium offers hazardous materials worker training and a HazMat Leadership Academy designed for current or aspiring managers and leaders.

Our 24 hour hazwoper course will teach you how to protect yourself and stay safe, even if you have limited exposure to these types of hazardous substances. Additionally, the course gives you a though understanding of OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(3). You should take this course if you work with or near hazardous materials under permissible exposure limits (PELs).

We are holding a hybrid (online/in-person) 40 hour Hazwoper certificate through taking the 24 hour Hazwoper online (listed above), then you will need to contact firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule the remaining 16 hours hands on portion to complete the full 40-hour Hazwoper certificate.

Students will lean science-based best practices for keeping employees safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Prodcedures or health monitoring, cleaning, sanitation, distancing, PPE, workplace modifications, and disinfection will be presented. This course provides ideas for re-constituting and re-structuring business operations to overcome the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Review of individual protections provided under HIPAA, ADA, and FFCRA is included.
