Why Utah?

The Occupational Medicine Residency program at the University of Utah was my top choice for several reasons. Many of the faculty are leaders in the specialty, and they have a broad range of expertise and experience in the various aspects of occupational medicine. I felt the curriculum and off-site rotations that are offered here would best equip me to achieve my goals. The MOH program was appealing to me because it focuses on what is most relevant for a practicing occupational medicine physician, as opposed to MPH programs which have a broader focus. After meeting the faculty and residents during the interview process, it became apparent that this program was the perfect fit for me. As a fly fisherman, snow skier, and self-proclaimed mountain man, Utah had tremendous appeal. So far it has exceeded all of my hopes and expectations.
