Program Accreditation

The University of Utah Master of Science in Cardiovascular Perfusion (MSCP) program has been granted Candidacy Status through the Accreditation Committee-Perfusion Education (AC-PE). The information regarding this candidacy status can be found within the following link:

http://ac-pe.org/wordpress/programs-with-candidacy-status/

The purpose of the candidacy status is to allow the MSCP to work with the AC-PE in preparing for accreditation. Candidacy status is not an accreditation status though and is optional for new programs to help guide them through program development. Candidacy status does not guarantee that accreditation will eventually be granted, but being given candidacy status shows that the program has a solid foundation and is making satisfactory progress toward preparation for accreditation requirements.

Application for accreditation will occur following the first didactic year. Once the accreditation application has been submitted, a full site review will occur and the accrediting body will determine whether the program meets all accreditation standards. Our application for accreditation will roughly occur in June of 2021. More updates will be posted as soon as we get closer to the accreditation dates. If you have any questions or concerns with this process please do not hesitate to reach out at perfusionprogram@hsc.utah.edu. Thank you!
