The University of Utah NeuroRhinology and Advanced Sinus Surgery Fellowship is built upon a foundation of clinical and academic excellence. This one-year fellowship involves training in all aspects of medical and surgical rhinology. Fellows receive comprehensive training in advanced techniques, including endoscopic skull base surgery and surgery for complicated inflammatory disease. An emphasis on skull base surgery will be placed through our skull base dissection lab and collaborations with neurosurgical colleagues at the University of Utah.
Delivery of high-level, patient-centered clinical care is complemented by a focus on academic prowess and productivity. Fellows are actively engaged in the program’s research mission, which includes basic science, patient outcomes, therapeutics, and translational research.
Fellows receive a faculty appointment at the instructor level and are actively engaged in all aspects of the department’s teaching program. Teaching residents and other colleagues is a core competency that will be developed during the fellowship. It is expected that fellows will participate in grand rounds, weekly rhinology case conferences, skull base lab dissections, and informal teaching in the clinic and operating rooms. In addition to other clinical duties, fellows will manage an independent rhinology-focused clinic and surgical practice, with increasing autonomy as the year progresses.
Fellows are paid at the University’s PGY-6 level. Paid vacation time is provided.
