Residency
The University of Utah Division of Plastic Surgery has both an integrated track residency program and an independent track residency program. Both programs at the University of Utah are ACGME accredited and conform to the guidelines set forth by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Integrated residents will have a broad training in general surgery, ENT, orthopedics, ophthalmology, dermatology, burn surgery, occuloplastics and others during their first three years; with rotations with the plastic surgery team throughout those years as well. The clinical rotations for both programs during the last three years of training cover four hospitals and give residents a broad spectrum of all aspects of plastic surgery.
Fellowships
The University of Utah, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery has three fellowships: microvascular reconstructive surgery, craniofacial surgery and orthodontic craniofacial surgery. All of the fellowships are one year and are non-accredited fellowships. Applicants for the microvascular and craniofacial fellowships must have completed a plastic surgery residency in an ACGME approved residency program. The fellowships will offer comprehensive training with a large clinical volume and research opportunities
