The University of Utah Division of Plastic Surgery's microsurgery training lab is located in the School of Medicine building on the hospital campus. The four-station laboratory includes two Zeiss microscopes as well as the capacity to work in both animal (porcine vessels) and plastic (glove or penrose drain) models. The lab utilizes the Acland Practice Manual for Microsurgery as its core curriculum.
Formal microsurgical labs are held quarterly.
The microsurgery lab is run by Dr. Christopher Pannucci, Associate Professor in Plastic Surgery at the University of Utah.
Dr. Pannucci works with resident in plastic surgery, on microsurgical skills.
Residents complete their microsurgical skills curriculum.
