The University of Utah School of Medicine Alumni Association exists to strengthen and support the University of Utah's School of Medicine by promoting
The Alumni Association promotes the overall vision and purpose of the medical school through advocacy, student engagement, and financial support. Participate with the association by learning about our events and programs, read the latest issue of Illuminations magazine, volunteer some of your time to assist current medical students, and contribute to the overall success of the U's medical school by making a contribution. We look forward to hearing from you and invite you to update your information and share with us your career highlights and achievements!
The Alumni Association Board of Directors and staff are organized into the following project committees. Each committee is comprised of a staff member, committee chair, and supporting board members. Each committee meets bi-monthly and then convenes jointly to discuss issues and strategies of collective merit.
President, Vice President, Secretary, Committee Chairs (4), and Alumni Association Staff
Executive Director, Assoc. Director, Assoc. Vice President of Health Sciences Development and Data Specialist. The Executive Committee oversees all activities of the Alumni Association. The Executive Director relies on the Executive Committee for organizational direction, strategic planning, and fiscal oversight.
The Alumni Programs Committee oversees all events of the medical alumni weekend and other events scheduled for the Alumni Association. A representative of the Half Century Society also participates in this committee.
Oversees the planning for the CME Conference during Alumni Weekend. Select presenters and assures all topics comply with accreditation requirements. Encourages Health sciences and medical school department collaboration and hosts the residents’ program: Transitioning Into Practice.
Advises on the website content and design, oversees the content and distribution of the Alumni Association Illuminations Magazine and all outside communication with alumni, faculty,
Oversees student programs, which include Freshman Barbeque, the 4th Year Alumni Awards, H.O.S.T., Dinner with a Doc, student thank-you calling, and medical school class financial support. Continually evaluates student programs for effectiveness. Researches new ideas for student programming that builds relationships between students and alumni.
