Since June 1979, the ophthalmology program at the University of Utah School of Medicine has offered excellent didactic training and a surgical experience unmatched by any other program in the country. With the opening of the 82,500 square foot John A. Moran Eye Center in 1993, the enrichment provided by a superb research group and increased subspecialty patient volumes, the residency experience continued to improve. In 2006, we opened our new 200,000 square foot facility that will again help take our residency program to a new level.
