The University of Utah Physician Assistant Program (UPAP) is accredited by ARC-PA, the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. UPAP is a full-time program that begins each summer semester (early May) and spans 27 months over seven continuous semesters. Part-time or interrupted attendance is not an option, and no online classes are offered. Requests for advance placement are not considered. Accepted candidates must complete all curricular components of the program. Graduates of the program receive an MPAS, Master of Physician Assistant Studies.
2021 application year (for 2022 matriculating class):
April 29th - Central Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA) opens.
August 1st - Last day to submit the CASPA application, 11:59 pm EST.
August 1st - Healthcare experience aquisition deadline (temporary COVID 19 exception: 1500 hours).
September 1st - CASPA application verification (processing) deadline.
CASPer test dates: open through August 10th. Distribution deadline August 23rd.
Mid-October - Interview status notifications sent via e-mail.
Thursday, November 11th in Salt Lake City
Saturday, November 13th in St. George
Thursday, November 18th in Salt Lake City
Friday, November 19th in Salt Lake City
Acceptance status and alternate rankings offered in late November.
