Dr. Meier earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He went on to receive his medical degree from Midwestern University in 2007. Dr. Meier was awarded an HPSP scholarship by the United States Air Force and served as an active duty Flight Surgeon for four years in San Antonio, TX. After honorably serving his country, Dr. Meier completed his residency training in Anesthesiology at the University of Michigan in 2015. He then went on to complete a fellowship in Regional Anesthesiology and Acute Pain Medicine at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. In 2016, Dr. Meier was appointed as an Assistant Professor (Clinical) in the University of Utah Department of Anesthesiology. He was promoted early to Associate Professor (Clinical) in the Department of Anesthesiology in 2021.
