Andrew "Pat" Soisson, MD, is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Utah, School of Medicine and a Huntsman Cancer Institute investigator. Dr. Soisson specializes in gynecologic cancers, especially invasive cervical cancer and high risk gynecological surgery. He is also interested in developing a center for treatment of cervical cancer and pre-invasive cervical disease that uses a multidisciplinary approach to study the human papillomavirus and its connection with cervical cancer. Dr. Soisson is the co- primary investigator, with Doctor Theresa Werner, in the Gynecologic Oncology Group, a National Cancer Institute-funded nonprofit organization that promotes excellence in quality and integrity of clinical and basic scientific research. Before joining Huntsman Cancer Institute, he was division director of gynecologic oncology at the West Virginia University Medical Center. Dr. Soisson received his medical degree from Georgetown Medical School in Maryland and completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Duke University Medical Center.

Dr. Soisson is an avid hiker and utilizes this form of exercise for fitness and mental well-being. He is an advocate for these activities and promotes them to his patients and their families who are dealing with the physical and emotional stress associated with gynecologic cancers.
