Anna Tsygelnytska, MD, is a hospitalist and addiction medicine specialist at the University of Utah and is currently involved in medical education, quality improvement, addiction consultation services and professional societies, including ACP as well as ASAM. As a physician specializing in internal medicine and addiction medicine, her academic and clinical interests include substance use disorders, treatment of hospitalized patients with substance-related conditions, and improving access to evidence-based addiction care.

Tsygelnytska received her MD at the American University of Antigua school of medicine. She received her training in Internal Medicine at HCA Florida Citrus Hospital. She subsequently completed fellowship training in Addiction Medicine at the University of Utah.

Tsygelnytska has clinical experience caring for medically complex patients with co-occurring substance use disorders. She has a particular interest in the integration of addiction treatment into acute and inpatient medical care, including the identification and management of substance use disorders during hospitalization and the transition of patients to longitudinal treatment and recovery services.
