Charles Y. Lui, MD

Dr. Lui is Professor Emeritus of Medicine at the University of Utah. Dr. Lui earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from the University of Nebraska, followed by a Master’s of Science in Biochemistry and a medical degree from University of Nebraska. Dr. Lui completed an Internal Medicine Residency and a fellowship in Clinical Cardiology at the University of Nebraska before pursuing advanced fellowship training in Clinical Cardiology and NIH/NHLBI- sponsored cardiovascular research at the University of Texas Health Science Center.

Dr. Lui is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology. Throughout his career, he served as Director of Cardiac Catheterization at Salt Lake VA Medical Center, where he played a key role in advancing cardiovascular care for Veterans. Although now retired as active faculty, Dr. Lui remains involved in medical education through guest lectures and teaching sessions.
