Edward Michael Gilbert, MD is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. Gilbert received his medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. He completed his training in Internal Medicine and in Critical Care at Wayne State University. He completed his Cardiovascular Disease training at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. Gilbert has been on faculty at the University of Utah since 1988 and serves as the Program Director for the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Fellowship in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Utah School of Medicine and as the Associate Medical Director of the Utah Transplantation Affiliated Hospitals (UTAH), Cardiac Transplant Program in Salt Lake City, UT. He has been active in clinical work, education and research in the areas of advanced heart failure and heart transplantation.
