Dr. Stoecklein is an emergency physician who focuses on treatment of emergent conditions at University Hospital. After completing his emergency medicine residency and an EMS fellowship at the University of Utah, he worked for two years in the community before returning to the U to start an ACGME-accredited EMS fellowship. Dr. Stoecklein is board certified in Emergency Medicine and EMS.

Dr. Stoecklein is involved with resident and fellow education in the Department of Emergency Medicine, directing the resident EMS curriculum and the EMS fellowship. He also serves as Medical Director for Mountain West Ambulance Service and Tooele County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center and as Associate Medical Officer for Salt Lake City Fire Department. His research interests include out of hospital cardiac arrest management, prehospital medicine, and emergency airway management.
