Jing Wang, PhD is a Professor in the Division of Public Health. She obtained her PhD in Statistics from North Carolina State University.

As a collaborative biostatistician, she has spent a tremendous amount of time providing statistical support in all phases of research projects (planning, analysis, and reporting) in various fields, including nursing, physiology, and public health. She has been funded as a coinvestigator by serval funding agencies including NIH, AHRQ, AICR.

Her research area is statistical computing, with a specific focus on methodological development in areas of machine learning, longitudinal modeling, and survival analysis. Her current research focuses on artificial neural networks for prediction and classification for clustered data to fill the gap in the literature in this area. She also conducts secondary research using national survey databases (e.g., NHANES and BRFSS) to determine the prevalence of major diseases and risk factors for diseases.

She has taught various statistical courses, including applied linear regression models, categorial data analysis, longitudinal and multilevel data analysis, psychometrics, and statistical data mining.
