Dr. Race joined the University of Utah School of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics as an assistant professor in early 2022. His academic career began here at the University of Utah where he studied mathematics and philosophy as an undergrad. Dr. Race completed a PhD in biostatistics at the Ohio State University Department of Public Health in 2019. His dissertation was concerned with Bayesian semi-parametric survival analysis. Post graduate school, Dr. Race took a position as a clinical trials statistician at the pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly where he worked on trial design and submission for studies concerning immunological diseases and Covid. Dr. Race’s research interests include Bayesian trial design, analysis of time-to-event data, non- and semi-parametric modeling, and longitudinal analysis.
