After obtaining her MD degree from the University of Hawaii, Dr Anderson had a military obligation to fill, which took her to the Naval Medical Center in San Diego. Her Internship was in "Basic Medicine" a very broad-based training program, closest to Internal Medicine but also included operationally-specific rotations. A hiatus from formal training with 3 years of operational care of Marines from an artillery unit at Camp Pendleton. She then allowed her to pursue formal training in Sports Medicine at Drexel U/Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia
