Dr. Lawrence Cook is a Professor in Pediatric Critical Care. He has more than two decades of experience with probabilistic linkage theory and its application. He is the PI of the Utah Crash Outcome Data Evaluation System (CODES) and led the CODES Technical Assistance Center where he was responsible for assisting with the design and evaluation of linkage models for all states in the CODES Data Network. He was also responsible for conducting multi-state analyses and developed a General Use Model for combining linked crash and hospital data from multiple states.

Dr. Cook provides leadership for data coordination and analysis activities for projects at the University of Utah Data Coordinating Center (DCC). He is the PI of the Guthy-Jackson Charitable Foundation-funded CIRCLES study, which created a longitudinal registry and biorepository of patients with Neuromyelitis Optical Spectrum Disorders (NMOSD). He is the PI of the DCC for the CARE4Kids study, which aims to develop a clinical decision rule to identify early to middle adolescents at risk for developing persistent post concussive symptoms.

Dr. Cook serves as a faculty statistician for the Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN) where he oversees DCC activities for a variety of projects including the PECARN Registry and the PEDScreen and C-Spine prediction rule studies.
